How to get there?

There are many ways to get to the rims. Most visitors still arrive at the Grand Canyon by car or bus tour but some use other transportations.


SOUTH RIM

By Car

From south: Grand Canyon Village (South Rim) is located 60 miles north of Interstate 40 (from Williams via Highway 64), 77 miles northwest of Flagstaff, AZ (via Highway 180) and 222 miles from Phoenix, AZ (via Highway I-17 to Flagstaff and then via Highway 180).
From west: 490 miles from Los Angeles, CA (via Highway I-10, I-15 and I-40 to Williams, from there via AZ-64 north to Grand Canyon Village).
275 miles from Las Vegas, NV (via US-93 to Kingman, AZ and I-40 to Williams, AZ, from there via AZ-64 north to Grand Canyon Village).
From north: 140 miles from Page, AZ (via US-89 to Cameron, from there via AZ-64 to Grand Canyon Village).
From east: 405 miles from Albuquerque, NM (via Highway I-40 to Williams, AZ, from there via AZ-64 north to Grand Canyon Village).

By Plane

Some airlines fly to the Grand Canyon (Tusayan Airport, just south of the park) from several cities (Phoenix/Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles,...) in the southwestern region:

- Scenic Airlines or call (800) 634-6801
- Grand Canyon Airlines or call (866) 2-FLY-GCA or (866) 235-9422

From the airport you can use the shuttle or taxi or rent a car to get to the Grand Canyon Village.


By Shuttle/Bus

From Tusayan: Grand Canyon-Tusayan Shuttles transport guests to the Grand Canyon Village.
From Flagstaff: there is a service to the Grand Canyon.


By Train

A great way to get to the Grand Canyon is by the Grand Canyon Railway - an entertaining, relaxing and scenic ride. The GC Railway offers service between Williams, AZ and the canyon, (800) THE-TRAIN or (800) 843-8724.


From Rim to Rim

A drive with your car from Rim to Rim will take about 5 hours (215 miles).

There is a Rim to Rim Shuttle. Daily round-trip transportation between the North Rim and the South Rim is provided by Transcanyon Shuttle. Only one trip each way daily while the North Rim is open. Reservations required.

NORTH RIM


AZ-67 (road between
Jacob Lake and North Rim)

By Car

From north: The North Rim is located 45 miles south of Jacob Lake, AZ (via AZ-67), 124 miles southwest of Page, AZ (via US-89 to Bitter Springs, from there via US-89 ALT to Jacob Lake, then south on AZ-67 to the North Rim), 82 miles south of Kanab, UT (via US-89 ALT to Jacob Lake, AZ and the AZ-67 south).
From west: 282 miles east of Las Vegas, NV (via I-15 N just past St. George, UT, then to Hurricane, UT and Kanab, UT)
From south: 210 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ (via US-89 to Bitter Springs, US-89 ALT to Jacob Lake and then AZ-67 south to the North Rim.


From Rim to Rim
